About Zero Means Zero

Zero Means Zero is an independent advocacy organization dedicated to ensuring that society’s most vulnerable people are genuinely protected by the institutions entrusted with their care.

Many government bodies publicly declare a “zero-tolerance” stance toward abuse, neglect, or misconduct yet in practice, their policies, practices and attitude of some of their staff can often contradict those promises. Many of these institutions operate without any external oversight and self-report on their effectiveness without anyone verifying their claims.

At Zero Means Zero, we believe that those who have nothing to hide, hide nothing.

We call for transparency, independent review, and truth-based accountability across all safeguarding and healthcare institutions.

Our mission is simple:

To ensure that zero tolerance is not just a slogan, but a lived reality — one upheld in policy, practice, and spirit.

Goals

  • Advocate for transparency in how government and public bodies investigate, resolve and report safeguarding concerns.

  • Expose contradictions between official “zero-tolerance” statements and real-world practices.

  • Protect the vulnerable — older adults, people with disabilities, and others whose voices are too often dismissed.

  • Promote ethical leadership grounded in truth, compassion, and accountability.

Zero tolerance for abuse must mean zero exceptions, zero excuses and zero cover-ups.
